I reckon I must’ve said this about eleventy billion times, but I firmly believe that the Humble Bundle is one of the greatest things that’s ever happened to gaming. The fact that Humble Bundles also keep coming out for Android is brilliant, as well, and oh look, there’s a new Humble Bundle for Android, available right now!
Yep, that’s four games for your Android phone, and you set the price you want to pay for them… well, unless you choose to pay more than the average price for the bundle, of course, ‘cos in that case, it’s six awesome games for your Android phone. So, what’s the crack?
First up comes the standard disclaimer: some of these games are rather graphically intensive, and are going to be best played on a tablet or a really big phone. So, if you’ve got a phone like the Sony Xperia Z or the utterly huge Samsung Galaxy Note II, you may very well find that you have an easier time playing some of the games than you would using an entry-level phone with a diddy processor. One of the games that’ll undoubtedly run better on a big powerful beastie like those is Dungeon Defenders, a tower defence game that’s been getting absolute rave reviews on the indie scene. The other one that I reckon’ll really benefit from a big screen is Beat Hazard Ultra, ‘cos I’ve seen that being played (it’s a shoot-em-up, that uses your own music collection to generate levels), and ye gods, it’s manic!
And that’s just two of the games waiting for you. Pay more than the average price (currently $6.65, or about £4.41) and you get another four games, plus the PC, Linux and Mac versions of them and the soundtracks.
Oh, and also, you can choose to give a portion of what you pay to charity, so you win, the developers and charity wins.
Therefore, there are literally no downsides to the Humble Bundle, so go for it! Fill yer boots!
